I’ve never been one to listen to music while biking or skiing. I think it is dangerous enough riding my bike around town and I want to be able to hear everything that is going on around me. Well Tunebug recognizes that biking or skiing or skateboarding with your headphones on is probably not the smartest thing so they came up with the Shake – a speaker system that mounts to your helmet so you can both listen to music and be aware of what’s going on in your surroundings.
The Tunebug Shake essentially turns your helmet into a speaker system and the volume on this little thing is pretty impressive. The speaker mounts to most types of bike and ski helmets and connects to your iPod, MP3 player, or mobile. It also connects wirelessly using Bluetooth to create a surround sound experience inside your helmet.
The setup only weighs 2.4 ounces so you will barely notice it on your head. To turn it on and off all you pretty much need to do is tap your head. You place two fingers over a touch sensitive area on the top of the device for three seconds and then do the same to turn it off. To turn the volume up or down, you just need to hold one finger over one side or the other of the device until you get your desired volume, but you do get some awfully loud beeping noises when you adjust the volume.
