Traveling light: 10lbs or less
Everyone wants to be able to pack light, and it’s usually a challenge. I know I always end up taking more than I use, or at least items that I don’t use. Tim Ferris, the author of The 4-Hour Workweek offers some insights in a recent blog post on how to travel the world with 10lbs or less.
He also side-steps into how to get discounts while traveling, which isn’t exactly related to the 10lb-or-less topic, but his advice is pretty solid, albeit simple. The key to success is to ask. Sounds so simple, right? But most people don’t either think to ask, or are too shy to ask, especially here in America… or so it would seem to me. Head out to some other countries, and people can drive you nuts by negotiating or asking you for stuff!
I won’t paraphrase the rest, but if you head over to read the post, you’ll find a simple technique that you can start applying today, even when you’re not traveling.
PS: Tim’s also about to announce the winners of his BootsnAll sponsoredround the world trip giveaway in the next few days, so stay around for the excitement.
