• Andilad is planning a RTW trip, and is a self-described “keen photographer.” He’s got a couple of cameras to choose from – a Canon PowerShot S60 and a Nikon D50 (plus Tamron 70-300 lens). Will the weight of the Nikon slow him down too much? Will the Canon do everything he needs?
• Sasquatch Pilaf is in a bit of a pickle… He’ll be in Singapore for a day before flying to Sipadan to do some diving. He can’t find an underwater housing for his Canon PowerShot S1-IS in Korea, and doesn’t have time to order one online. Anyone know a place he can find one on his day in Singapore?
• Rocknrod offers his review of his Patagonia Capilene pants, in case you’re considering a similar purchase.
• Sideways Elephant-Orcids is choosing some gear for an extended trip in South America – specifically, he’s looking for input on the shoes, the jacket and a water filter.
• Chris_lem is hunting for a lightweight wind/waterproof jacket; something not too insulated, as he’ll be wearing it over polar fleece when it gets cold. What’s your recommendation?
• Disaster wants to buy the Snugpak Softie 3 Merlin because it’s tiny, but has heard it’s really a challenge to get it back into the compression sack. What’s your experience with it?
• Who among you won’t leave home without your noise-cancelling headset? Who doesn’t think they’re worth the money? Gardkarlsen wants to know.
