The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister
The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister – Tough toiletry case.
North Face makes toiletry bags, who knew? Certainly not me. The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister is the first I have seen in the line of North Face toiletry bags. Its not the best bag for the avid traveler, but its perfect for the backpacker who doesn’t want a toiletry bag.
The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister may not have all the bells and whistles of some of the other toiletry cases out there. What it does have, is all the basic essentials, which makes it perfect for back country use or overnight trips. The inside of the The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister is one large, zippered compartment and a smaller, mesh pocket for loose items.
What many backpackers will like about The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister is that it is built tough. The entire unit is constructed of water resistant and abrasion tough polyester. It is also covered with a PVC free, thermoplastic elastomer laminate that helps keeps The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister tough against the abuse of travel.
The quick & dirty:
Where you can get one:
REI: $25
Why they rock:
- D-shaped zipper provides easy access to the main compartment where you can store your large toiletry items
- Zippered mesh pocket secures small essentials; small mesh pockets at each end provide additional storage
- Two exterior daisy chains allow canister to be strapped securely to nearly any pack or duffel
- Interior strap with side-release buckle lets you hang canister from a towel bar
- Constructed of water- and abrasion-resistant polyester and nylon with PVC-free thermoplastic elastomer laminate to withstand the abuse of travel
Seat-of-the-pants rating: 8 out of 10
I probably wouldn’t recommend The North Face Base Camp Travel Canister to the busy traveler, but its perfect for the back country user. Its small enough to fit the essentials without taking up a lot of space.
