Teva Dozer – A decent multi-purpose sandal.

Before the invention of the multi-purpose sandal, I sometimes questioned my manhood when packing for a trip. Planning for any given trip, I’d be so confused on what shoes to bring. I’d pace back and forth in my closet, trying on different shoes and socks. I felt like a 16 year old girl getting ready for prom. What kind of girl wears hiking shoes to prom, I don’t know. The point of the story, before the sandal, there were too many options for footwear.

Case in point, on a recent trip to Costa Rica, I needed footwear to accommodate daily use, day hikes, and maybe even some jungle treks. Sure, I could have packed flip-flops, hiking boots, and some tennis shoes; but where would I put the rest of my gear? Thanks to pioneering companies like Keen and Teva, there is an answer to this dilemma.

One of Tevas answers to this problem is the Dozer.

The Teva Dozer is a Frankenstein of shoes; its part shoe, part sandal. The unique, water friendly design, makes it great for a variety of uses. The synthetic upper portion of the Dozer, and its enclosed toes, protect your feet while hiking. The vast amount of vents all around the sandal, allow for quick drainage. However, the one thing I don’t like is that there is no mesh around the drain areas. Without the mesh, you sometimes get rocks and sticks wandering into you sandal.

The best part about the Teva Dozer, is that it’s outfitted with Microban® zinc based anti-microbial protection. What does that mean? It means you’d be hard pressed to get stinky feet in these sandals. If you have ever spent any extended amount of time in sandals, you know what I’m talking about.

• No mesh around drain holes
• Doesn’t fit well on small/narrow feet.
