Testing Gear in Costa Rica
In a matter of days I will be jetting off to Costa Rica for a month. My old lady and I are moving there in late March for the sheer hell of it. This upcoming trip is mainly for us to find a house to rent and get it tied down. Having never rented a house in another country, this should be a strange and unique experience.
If you feel like following our month long research trip or our move, feel free to check out the BootsnAll Costa Rica Logue website. I will be updating it with information about living, traveling, and staying in Costa Rica. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica in the next year, feel free to drop me a line. I might not have a sofa you can sleep on, but Im sure I can find a hammock or two!
While I’m down there during the month of February I will be field testing a decent amount of gear for Travel Gear Blog. I thought I would give you guys a heads up on some of the gear I would be testing and see if any of you had used it before and what you thought about it. Id love to know any experienced, good or bad, that you have had with any of this gear.
USB Key with Portable Apps – I wrote a post a long ways back about some software you could install on a USB drive. I had tested in my home and it worked well, but Im interested to see how it performs down south.
Flip Camcorder – Im really excited about this one. Im going to try to start doing some video blog posts so be on the lookout for that.
Moleskin Notebooks – I had never really used one of these before so I thought I would see what all the fuss was about.
Zamberlan Trail Shoes – Got a pair of these trail shoe sin the mail the other day. We have a few volcano hikes on our list of things to do and I figured if the shoes hold up well then, they must be pretty good.
Stuffbak Labels – Im going to “loose” a few things while we are down there to see how well these labels will perform in other countries.
There is much more gear that I will be testing, but these were the main pieces that I wanted to hear about from other travelers. I would like to hear your stories about traveling with any of this gear. Leave a comment or drop me a line.
