Scanner Bag Review

Scanner Bag

It’s a luggage tag… it’s a man-purse… it’s… the Scanner Bag!

Keeping with the theme of the week, Carrie at Business Travel Logue has tested out yet another of the Gadget Duck products. That makes 2. And we’ve exhausted their supply of creative products – for now. My hunch is that with a creative mind like they’ve got, there will probably be some other nifty things soon.

So check it (not your luggage) and see the review that follows.

The quick & dirty:

Where you can get one:
Gadget Duck $13.85 to $24.85

Why it rocks:

  • Clever Idea
  • Folds away
  • Why it bites:

  • Eh, just not so “manly”
  • Seat-of-the-pants rating: 8 out of 10.

    Long Winded Version:
The Scanner bag lets you stow all your loose junk that you have in your pockets, your boarding pass, ID when you’re plodding through airport security checkpoints.

It’s got a handy zipper pocket so you can put all your valuables and attach them to your luggage so you don’t have to put them through the x-ray machine in a separate tray. The nice part is now you only have one thing to watch for – your luggage which has everything else safely attached.

Carrie at BTL tested this on her recent trip from the BootsnAll office back to her home in Landlocked, AR. Here’s some of what Carrie has to say:

The Scanner Bag starts out the size of a wallet. Once you open the Velcro fastener, it folds out to a 7″ x 11″ bag with a zipper closure and a mesh front. It has a strap with an adjustable buckle so you can attach it to your carry-on or laptop bag. There is a credit card size slot for your ID with a clear mesh cover. This is a great place to keep your license without losing it, but because you can’t see through the cover be prepared to take your ID out to get through the checkpoint or buy booze. I tried the Scanner Bag out with PDX security and they didn’t even bat an eyelash.
