51xwkhw-tll_aa280_Redfeather Stride Snowshoes–a slimmer, female-specific design for a more comfortable, efficient snowshoeing experience for the ladies.

As a female athlete who loves winter sports (hitting the slopes, backcountry skiing and snowshoeing), finding a snowshoe that not only will perform well in variable conditions, but also is designed specifically with a woman’s frame and build is important. Getting a snowshoe more tailored to your body type will help you keep up with (and beat) the boys out there in the backcountry.

The Redfeather Stride snowshoes come with many of the same features as the male Redfeather Alpine. The Stride’s lightweight aluminum frame is powder coated to help shed snow and keep your feet light.

The snowshoes also feature a durable, flexible decking that accommodates a range of different footwear. The Optima Plus binding system with flex front base plate ihas glove-friendly buckles and also helps to provide a more natural gait cycle with a tapered V-tail rear end to minimize hang ups.

The balances hinge also lifts the tail of the shoe from the snow, increasing mobility and speed.

Why they Rock:

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 8 out of 10

If you are looking for a good female specific snowshoe that will handle well in the backcountry, the Redfeather Stride is a solid choice. While some complain that the Redfeather backcountry models are a little heavier, they have enough redeeming features that may make up for the added weight. Solid crampons, durable decking good in deep snow and a design that adds to mobility and speed even in deep snow are all added bonuses.
