As a former ski racer, I have worn a lot of ski helmets in my day. I have also disliked the majority of them. Even with my racing days behind me, I still like to bomb groomers, tackle some pretty difficult backcountry terrain and ski in the trees, all activities which add up to me still needing a helmet to protect my noggin. However, as someone with an especially small head, I always had a lot of trouble finding the right helmet. They always seemed too big, too heavy and too cumbersome. I often felt like a bobble head going down the mountain. And, without a helmet I really liked, I often found myself opting for my hat rather than my detested helmet. After a fall where the back of my ski cut my head open and I bled all over the snow, I realized that wearing a helmet wasn’t just a good idea, but totally necessary. That’s when I discovered the Red Hi-Fi Helmet. This thing is great. Not only is SUPER lightweight, it is also stylish.
