At the rate all these amazing waterproof digital cameras are hitting the market,it is only a matter of time before every point and shoot digital camera on the market is indestructible. The idea of making a digital camera waterproof and shock proof makes so much sense that is a wonder every point and shoot isn’t already constructed that way. Continuing on with its great line of waterproof digital cameras, Olympus has added the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW to its family. With the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW you get all the best features of the previous models, but with some cool new features. Some of these new features include tap control and face detection.

A major problem with other waterproof digital cameras was the ease of use to operate underwater. Or maybe i should say lack of ease. Trying to operate a tiny digital camera underwater or with gloves on is almost impossible. Some manufactures tried to solve this problem by adding larger buttons, but as such, they also had to increase the size of the camera. The Olympus Stylus 1050 SW uses a tap control that makes it easy to use under water or with gloves on. Simply tap the side , top, or back to initiate function like picture playback, flash mode, etc.

If nothing else, the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW is worth the cost just for how easy it is to use underwater or in extreme environments. If you plan on using the camera in the cold or underwater quite a bit, the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW is probably your best bet.
