mountainsmith tourMountainsmith Recycled Tour Pack—an eco-friendly tour pack for travelers and adventurers

I’ll be the first to admit that the fanny-pack style (or, as Mountainsmith likes to call this pack, a lumbar style) is for me. As practical and useful as this design may be, I just would rather sport a backpack any day.

That being said, just because I’m not a fan of this style of pack, doesn’t mean that others don’t like to rock the lumbar pack.

The classic Tour lumbar pack from Mountainsmith is more than capable of holding enough food and water for a day on the trail, which makes it a great choice for casual hikers.

The 488-cubic-inch pack offers such features as a zippered main compartment, an interior zippered hanging pocket for keys and the like, and a zippered front panel pocket for items that demand quick access, like a flashlight or Leatherman.

The pack also features a pair of water bottle pockets, each of which accommodates a 32-ounce water bottle. Frequent travelers will dig the back-panel airline ticket pocket as well.

The Tour pack is also comfortable and has a removable shoulder strap with a sliding pad (great for airports), an air mesh foam back panel, and a tuck-away waist belt.

Other features include a bright yellow lining that promotes visibility, reflective highlights, and is made of durable 420d Velocity nylon body fabric. For extra strength it also has high-density Oxford nylon reinforcements, and 210d mini ripstop nylon lining.
