Marmot Exum Jacket - Built tough is an understatement.

Many of these mountaineering style jackets are built to handle the extremes of high altitude, but the Marmot Exum Jacket has taken it a few steps further with some high tech materials and design. The Marmot Exum Jacket was a winner in Adventure Magazines “Best of Adventure” in 2008.

Lets talk about some of the Gore-Tex features the Marmot Exum Jacket has got going on. The outer part of the Marmot Exum Jacket is made from a Gore-Tex 3L Pro Shell Fabric. Which is super breathable, waterproof, and windproof. Inside, you’ll find some Gore-Tex Grid lining. This thin lining allows the shell to easily slip on over other layers.

A unique feature of the Marmot Exum Jacket is the reduced amount and the thickness of seams. This small change has dramatic effect. It helps to reduce snag and abrasion, make the jacket lighter, and keep it breathable. The Marmot Exum Jacket also features added abrasion protection in the areas its needed most, such as the elbows and shoulders.

Why they rock:

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 10 out of 10

I cant really find anything bad to say about this jacket. It is a little expensive, but priced to match other jackets in this class. I would be very interested to hear what others have to say about the Marmot Exum Jacket.
