Lightload: Lightweight, Compact Towels
Lightload Towels–Ultralight, versatile and compact towels perfect for travel or the outdoors
Anytime you make things lighter, more compact and easier to fit into a bag, I’m happy. I mean, aren’t those kind of the tenants for great travel gear? When it comes to towels, they can be big, heavy and very space-consuming, which is why Lightoload Towels—pocket sized towels that expand when you get them wet—are perfect for travel. Not only do these towels, which come in both a small dish-towel size and a full beach towel size, come packaged into tiny palm-sized and pocket-sized packages, they also are super absorbent, quick drying and biodegradable. The other plus is that even once you’ve used the towel and it is no longer dehydrated in the mini palm-sized brick, these towels are still very lightweight and space-saving. In other words, you don’t have to worry about how you are going to fit the towel in your pack or bag after you’ve used it. It’s super lightweight and thin and could easily be rolled up to be much smaller than a regular towel.
I wish I would have known about Lightload Towels before I went on my month long backpacking trip this summer through Panama, because these would have worked perfectly for everything from beach trips or as a wash cloth. I also think these little towels would be ideal on a backpacking or camping trip. When I tested Lightload Towels, they dried lightening fast and were just as absorbent as the packaging suggested. I used one to clean my bathroom and another to dry off after a shower, and they worked great for both purposes.
Lightload towels come in a 12 by 24 inch version and a larger 36 by 60 inch version. I’d recommend taking a couple smaller towels and one large one on any backpacking trip. You’ll find plenty if uses for the little towels, they dry super fast and they hardly take up any space in your pack.
These are towels also great, environmentally friendly travel gear. Not only are they eco-friendly, but using these instead of paper towels or another disposable item means you keep more out of the landfill. Plus, because these towels dry super fast, you can wash them out in the sink, saving energy and time over a regular, more conventional towel.
