K2 Edge Helmet
K2 Edge Women’s Snow Sports Helmet—“Lightweight performance without breaking the bank”
According to the K2 Web site: “As with all K2 helmets, the Edge fits comfortably while meeting the highest test standards for ski and snowboard helmets. If that isn’t enough, the clean lines and at a minimal weight make purchasing this helmet a “no brainer”.”
I recently purchased this helmet for a screaming deal at ski gear sale, and I seemed to have finally found the solution to my ski helmet dilemma. For years, I have reluctantly worn a few different helmets, never really liking the way they felt. So much did I dislike the bulky feeling helmet, I would sometimes opt for a hat instead (and I really should be wearing a helmet with the kind of riding I like to do).
Then came the K2 Edge. It’s lightweight, it actually fits my smaller female head, and it looks great. It’s got such a low profile, you almost forget you’re even wearing a helmet—a long awaited goal this helmet has finally achieved.
The Quick & Dirty:
Where you can get one:
K2 Edge Helmet
Why it Rocks:
- Super lightweight
- Looks great (I have the white, which is feminine, but not too girly)
- Meets top safety standards to protect your noggin’ even if you yard sale
- Low profile, makes you forget you’re wearing a helmet
- Comfortable, adjustable strap to fit to your head
- Air vents and comfortable ear straps
Seat-of-the pants rating: 9 out of 10
I love that this helmet is lightweight and makes you forget you even have a helmet on, I did have to add a couple of the helmet pads the keep the side from rubbing into my head. That being said, for the price, this is one of the best helmets out there.
