The iMainGo2 is a super compact speaker system that is compatible with the iPhone, all iPods, and most other MP3 players. You simply zip open the case, plug in your iPod, secure it with a strap, zip it back up, and you’re ready to rock.
When I first turned it on I was quite taken aback by the amount of sound coming out of such a small device. The iMainGo2 boasts titanium speakers and the state-of-the-art electronics to deliver serious sound from just a little package.
I had quite a bit of fun testing out the iMainGo2 since I got it just before heading out on a 2-week camping trip. The speaker system made a great companion around the campfire and entertained us in the tent during a rainstorm with stories of This American Life.
What I liked best about the iMainGo2 is that the speaker system also acts as a protective case. I am notoriously hard on electronics, but with the case I wasn’t too worried about letting my iPod sit out in the elements.
I was also surprised at how well I could still operate my iPod through the iMain2Go2’s touch sensitive window. Plus the batteries held out for the entire trip – they estimate that 4 AAA batteries will give you about 30 hours of usage. Only downfall is that part of the inner case came apart, but it is probably because I had the iMainGo2 sitting in my car in 100+ degree weather – the glue just seemed to melt. No real big deal, it just makes it a little harder to get your iPod secured down in the case.
