HP 2140 Mini-Note PC
HP 2140 Mini-Note PC—Better battery life while maintaining maximum portability and good performance
Netbooks have taken the market by storm recently as people are discovering the incredible convenience of having a super lightweight and portable computer that allows them to browse the web while on the go (hence the name netbook). While these miniature PCs may not give you all the power or capabilities of other larger notebooks, they are perfect for the user that wants simple functionability– like word processing, uploading photos and web capabilities. Plus, with these mini computers weighing in at less under 3 lbs., they are super convenient for the flashpacker or business traveler.
These little notebooks have become so popular recently, that companies have already started to release better, faster and improved models. This include HP, who recently introduced the HP 2140 as an answer to the HP 2133. This newer version of the HP netbook still gives you all the portability, while offering a bigger screen (10.1 inches versus 8.9), and Intel Atom processor and better battery life.

Seat-of-the-pants Rating: 8 out of 10
According to Hp, this newer version of their netbook has been improved upon the problems of the HP 2133—meaning a better processor and supposedly a much better battery life. Since I have not been able to test this newer version out to see what the battery life is actually like, you are going to have to take HP’s word for it—but people do tend to get things right (or at least improve) the second time around. Plus, with these little notebooks starting at just $449, you certainly can’t complain too much about the price. If you’re an HP fan and liked the 2133, you should like the 2140 even more.
