HP 2133 Mini-Note PC—It may be small in size, but it’s big on usability

Those of us who love to travel, but like staying connected while we do, then the netbook was a welcome innovation in the world of technology. For me, the constant dilemma before any trip is bring the laptop and be stuck carrying it around (but glad to have it at the airport and once you get there) or leave it behind, travel lighter and curse that you can’t upload your new photos, chat or email folks back home. If you are like me and your work is travel, the netbook seems to solve all of these problems.

Not only is the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC super lightweight (weighing in at around 2.6 lbs.), but it is also has all of the basic functionality of laptop (internet, uploading pics, word processing) and is easy to use. The computer has an 8.9 inch screen and a keyboard that is 92% the size of a full-sized computer. While you may get some strange looks when you pull out your mini computer, don’t let the small size of this little netbook fool you—with an Intel Atom processor, Linux based operating system and 60 GB of memory this thing will keep you functioning on the road while still allowing you maximum mobility.

While this mini computer is great in providing mobility with it’s super small and lightweight design, reviewers have said that it can have a weak performance and unimpressive battery life. Especially for a computer that’s meant to be used on the go, a bad battery life can render this device practically useless (you aren’t always going to find a good spot to plug in while you’re moving around). The HP version is also slightly more expensive than some of the other models/brands of netbooks, and without proof that this thing actually works better, this could potentially be a major negative. However, this PC does offer a good balance of small size, comfort and functionality, making it a good choice for anyone looking for a great travel companion notebook.
