Dakine Camino 3-in-1 Mittens
Dakine Camino 3-in-1 Mittens—gloves that’ll keep even the coldest hands warm on the coldest days.
I almost always suffer from cold hands and feet. Even in warm comfortable homes, I often have frigid fingers. That being said, it isn’t too difficult to imagine that trying to keep my cold hands warm on a cold day on the mountain has proved nearly impossible over the years. That was until I got the Dakine Camino 3-in-1 mittens.
Christmas in my house often means new ski gear under the tree, and this year I got to test out my new DaKine mittens right away—and on a brutally cold, snowy and windy day on the slopes. For someone who has more or less accepted that my hands will be cold on these types of days skiing, I was almost shocked when my hands stayed nice and toasty even in sub zero temperatures.
The mittens were able to keep my hands warm with tough nylon shells that resist abrasion while allowing dexterity and a light and lofty Thermoloft™ insulation, which offers warmth without inhibiting movement. The removable stretch fleece liners provide extra warmth when needed and wick away moisture from hands.
These mittens also feature long, over-the-cuff gauntlets with 1-hand drawcords help seal out the elements and a nose wipe patches catch the drips on those chilly days.

Seat-of-the pants rating: 10 out of 10
I rarely give a 10 out of 10 rating on gear, but I seriously love these gloves. I have gotten the chance to test them out on both a super cold and windy day and on a warmer, sunnier day. They kept my hands the perfect temperature in both kinds of weather. I also love the nose wipe patch, the drawstring cords you can easily cinch with one hand, the internal hand warmer pockets. If you have chronically cold hands and don’t want to spend a fortune on mittens, these gloves are an excellent choice.
