Black Diamond Spot LED Headlamp – Super bright and water-resistant headlamp

Black Diamond’s Spot LED Headlamp is super bright and ultra light.  Equipped with a 1-watt DoublePower LED and three SinglePower LEDs, the Spot headlamp emits a whopping 60 lumens in its max setting.

Housed in a newly designed reflector, the Spot beams like a spotlight strong enough for dawn patrol or nighttime route finding and the low light setting works well for reading in the tent.  A streamlined design angles the light efficiently and the head tilts to aim the light just where you need it.

A single switch on the top of the lamp lets you select between three brightness levels (min, mid, and max) and strobe for each bulb type for a total of 8 different light settings.  A water-resistant construction makes the Black Diamond Spot great for hikers, skiers, and paddlers.  Testers say the Spot is great for winter sports since you can operate the switch even when you are wearing gloves.

The Black Diamond Spot is a great choice for hardcores.  The Spot is bright and illuminates up to 70 meters, which is important for those attempting serious alpine ascents in the pre-dawn hours.  It is also one of the few water-resistant headlamps out there and it the switch is large enough to operate through gloves.  Looking for a less extreme headlamp?  Check out some of our other favorite LED headlamps.
