Acer Aspire One Netbook
Acer Aspire One—A great budget choice for those looking basic netbook capabilities
When Netbooks first appeared on the market in 2007, the whole goal of these new mini notebooks was to give the person on the go a compact, super portable, and inexpensive computer to be able to pack up and take along with them. However, as newer models of these tiny computers got more and more memory, got bigger screens and keyboards and even got additional processing power, the low prices and small sizes were somewhat sacrificed. Enter the newest model of the Acer Aspire One Netbook. In fact, the newest model of the Acer Aspire One is aimed to undercut nearly all of the current market competitors in price. While the Acer One may not be as flashy as some of the other models, it has alol of the same basic functionality (you can still access the internet, word process and upload pictures) without coming with a huge price tag.
While the Intel Atom processor for this netbook certainly won’t be breaking any speed records, it performs adequately for what this computer was designed for—basic computer capabilities like surfing the web, word processing, and uploading digital pictures. This computer was also surprisingly fast when it came to even more sophisticated tasks like photo editing programs and compiling albums. While the battery life on the standard 3-cell battery model is only about 2.5 to 3 hours, Acer does offer a better 6-cell battery for an extra $50 (which is definitely worth every last penny).
