North Face Decagon Women’s Jacket
North Face Decagon Women’s Jacket—The perfect coat for ladies who love to hit the slopes
There’s about a gazillion reasons why you shouldn’t blow of all you responsibilities for the huge powder dump that happened overnight, but there’s also a gazillion reasons why you’d be a fool to miss out on the pow pow up in the mountains. If you’ve got the new North Face Decagon jacket, you’ll have a hard time not zipping it up, grabbing your fatties and heading for the slopes. It’s a hard time remembering your responsibilities when the powder is just out there waiting for you to shred through. I’m an admitted fan of most things North Face, and this jacket is no exception. It’s not exactly the jacket for those girls who want to wear tight fitting snow pants and fur trimmed coast up on the slopes, but this jacket definitely mixes fashion and function into one slick package.
The Decagon comes in several great colors (including the pictured pop pink for those who want to stand out against that heavenly white) and has a sleek and flattering line. Butt besides looks, this jacket is also waterproof, protecting you from storms and flurries, as well as pit-zips that will keep you cool as you make the hike off-piste. There is also internal Lycra cuffs and a snow skirt that will keep the snow out, and a great hood to keep you warm on those well below negative days. But besides keeping you warm on those especially chilly days, this jacket is also very breathable, ensuring you won’t overheat as you make that hike to drop into the perfect bowl or are skiing on an especially warm day.

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 10 out of 10
I rocked my North Face jacket for 5 seasons before I got sick of it and decided I needed a new one (it was still in perfect shape). So, if you are a skiing fashionista who may want an excuse to buy a coat every season, than this is probably not the right jacket for you. These things are made tough and will last a long time. That being said, this is the perfect ski coat. It fits over a down for the really cold days and you can zip a fleece shell directly in for milder ones. Sleek and figure flattering lines, feminine looking without being too girly. For those ladies who like to rip powder, this jacket will keep the white stuff outside of your coat with the Lycra cuffs and fitted snow skirt. The internal MP3 pocket is also a great addition and I really appreciated the chest and bicep pockets on this thing as well. Overall, this is just a great jacket to hit the slopes in—whether it’s blizzarding or a bluebird spring day.
