When I was getting ready to leave for my backpacking trip to Panama, I began a quest to find the perfect, small, lightweight day pack that I could easily shove in my bigger backpack when I was on the road. I wanted something small and lightweight, but also something that would hold enough I could take it with me on a day hike or a tour around Panama City. This is exactly when I WISH I would have discovered this great little travel daypack. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

First off, this pack is made by the guys over at Hammock Bliss, who also make great adventure camping hammocks and who have as much a penchant for adventure travel as we do. Personally, I trust guys who love adventure travel to make good adventure travel products.

Not only is the this little pack super lightweight (it’s made of lightweight nylon material), but it’s also folds up into one of the side pockets to become a compact, self-stowing little pack you can shove almost anywhere. The main storage space also has a volume of 1100 cubic inches, which is a great size for shoving all of your essential day-pack gear in (extra layers, water bottle, etc) without being too bulky. The lightweight nylon material is also water resistant just in case you got caught in the rain (again, I wish I would have had one of these with me in Panama) and there is an interior zipped pocket where you can safely keep you keys, phone, wallet or other valuable items. This little pack is so convenient, small and perfect, any traveler a backpacker in Central America to someone on a tour of Europe a la Rick Steves would be glad to have this pack along with them.

If you are looking for a great little travel daypack to shove in your suitcase, this is a great choice. While this little pack will not give you the same structure and support of a more traditional backpack, it is also stows so small you can shove it just about anywhere, which more than makes up for the things this small pack are missing. The nylon water resistant material is great and this pack is super sturdy for being so small and lightweight (they make parachutes out of this stuff, so I think it’ll hold up on your back just fine).
